Requirements
Must:
- 8-10+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering or infrastructure operations.
- In-depth, hands-on knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery platforms (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity).
- Advanced skills in designing and maintaining Microsoft SCCM / MECM environments.
- Extensive experience managing enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server and a solid understanding of Linux.
- Familiarity with VMware, Nutanix, and/or Hyper-V environments.
- Proven capability in leading complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis initiatives.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- **Preferred:** Experience in hybrid and cloud backup architectures (Azure).
- **Preferred:** Background in disaster recovery planning, testing, and auditing.
- **Preferred:** Experience with storage vendors (e.g., Dell/Isilon/PowerScale, NetApp).
- **Preferred:** Knowledge of PowerShell scripting or infrastructure automation.
- **Preferred:** Understanding of ransomware protection strategies and compliance frameworks.
- **Preferred:** Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, VMware, or certifications from storage or backup vendors).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for enterprise backup and recovery systems.
- Design, implement, and continually refine backup solutions across on-premises, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Direct and manage complex recovery efforts during incidents, outages, security breaches, and disaster recovery events.
- Establish, test, and uphold disaster recovery strategies, including runbooks and recovery time objectives (RTO/RPO).
- Conduct regular restore tests and audit recovery readiness.
- Ensure backup policies align with business continuity, security, and compliance standards.
- Assess new backup technologies and oversee tool selection and transitions as necessary.
- Architect, manage, and support large-scale Microsoft SCCM (Configuration Manager) environments.
- Lead operating system deployments, patching strategies, application packaging, and compliance configurations.
- Develop and maintain servicing schedules, maintenance timelines, and update deployment plans.
- Diagnose and rectify complex SCCM infrastructure, client, and content distribution challenges.
- Enhance automation, reporting, and reliability in endpoint management processes.
- Act as a point of escalation for intricate SCCM issues.
- Manage and oversee enterprise storage infrastructures (SAN/NAS), focusing on performance optimization and capacity management.
- Lead initiatives for storage provisioning, migrations, upgrades, and refresh efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate storage performance, growth patterns, and risk indicators.
- Troubleshoot intricate storage-related performance and availability challenges.
- Collaborate with virtualization and application teams to ensure storage solutions meet workload demands.
- Promote standardization and best practices across storage platforms.
- Serve as a senior technical escalation resource for infrastructure challenges.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior and mid-level systems engineers.
- Spearhead infrastructure projects, upgrades, and strategic initiatives.
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- Engage in architecture discussions and long-term infrastructure planning.
- Collaborate with security, network, cloud, and application teams to provide stable and secure solutions.
