Requirements
Must:
- A four-year degree with a minimum of eight years of Information Systems experience, including four years specialized in Systems Programming.
- Alternatively, a two-year technical degree with at least ten years of Information Systems experience, including four years in Systems Programming may be accepted.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered, provided there are four years of experience specific to Systems Programming.
- Comprehensive understanding of software design, programming, installation, maintenance, training methods, and software standards establishment.
- Proficient in zSeries software, including z/OS, CICS, and DB2.
- Strong planning skills and effective time management.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to create clear documentation.
Responsibilities
- Stay informed on the latest systems software provided by the manufacturer.
- Assess existing system software, suggest modifications, and evaluate new software for its impact on installation challenges, standards, and procedures.
- Deploy new systems software and updates while minimizing disruptions to existing production and testing processes.
- Set standards for software development, maintenance, and usage.
- Identify the need for tailored software solutions and oversee the acquisition or creation of suitable packages.
- Develop and maintain procedures to guarantee software security and currency within the environment.
- Review software performance and initiate enhancements as needed.
- Consult with other teams regarding resource requirements during project planning phases.
- Organize and lead training sessions for junior staff and other team members as necessary.
