Requirements
Must:
- Strong background in Alcatel/Nokia and Juniper routers/switches
- In-depth understanding of routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Knowledge of RSVP, LDP, PIM, and data center network design
- Expertise in Ethernet technologies (VLANs, STP, LACP, MC-LAG)
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio for network documentation
- Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Capable of mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across departments
- Preferred Certifications:
- Nokia: NRS I / II
- Juniper: JNCIA / JNCIS
- Core Networking: Expertise in Nokia and Juniper IP Engineering
- Protocols: MPLS, IS-IS, BGP, OSPF
- Documentation: Skills in creating MOPs (Methods of Procedure)
- Nice-to-Have: Experience with Metasolv
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, implement, and document innovative network solutions
- Provide escalation support and troubleshooting assistance for operations teams
- Develop Engineering Estimates and Installation Packages
- Evaluate new technologies and service architectures in lab settings
