Requirements
Must:
- 2+ years of experience in structured cabling or telecommunications infrastructure
- Solid understanding of data center cabling environments
- Familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling concepts, rack layouts, and cable management
- Knowledge of industry and manufacturer standards (BICSI, TIA, OEM specifications)
- Quality-focused mindset with a keen attention to detail
- Comfortable working autonomously and managing daily inspection tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor in interactions with installers, supervisors, and clients
Responsibilities
- Perform daily QA/QC inspections at assigned data center locations
- Audit finished fiber and copper cabling installations, telecom equipment, and rack configurations
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (BICSI, TIA, OEM specifications, and best practices for data centers)
- Identify non-conformities, risks, and opportunities for enhancement using inspection checklists
- Validate appropriate testing, cable management, labeling, and overall system functionality
- Meticulously document inspection outcomes, deficiencies, and corrective measures
- Maintain organized records of inspections, findings, and subsequent actions
- Provide clear and professional reports to site leadership and project stakeholders
- Communicate any deviations from quality standards to supervisors and project leadership
- Offer recommendations for improved quality, consistency, and efficiency
- Assist with quality training initiatives as needed
- Stay updated on industry codes, installation standards, and internal quality practices
- Adapt inspection and audit techniques as standards and project requirements change
Description
