Requirements
Must:
- Comprehensive knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) process, or industry-standard hardening practices.
- Proficient in Kubernetes-based platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift, Rancher, or vanilla Kubernetes.
- Proven expertise in automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
- Active Secret Clearance or higher.
- IAT Level II: Security+ Certification.
- Must be willing to work onsite as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Government engineers to design and sustain the Kubernetes-driven architecture.
- Create, deploy, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for the rollout and upkeep of the Kubernetes networking framework.
- Utilize IaC for setting up network foundations for customer namespaces and enclaves as applications are deployed on the solution.
- Administer the network on a daily basis, including patching and upgrading all Kubernetes networking components (e.g., CNI plugins like Calico, Cilium, or OpenShift SDN) in conjunction with the entire Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Monitor network resource health and usage, alerting the Team Lead of critical issues and the need for additional resources.
- Enhance the network according to cloud-native best practices and mandatory government cybersecurity controls.
- Investigate and analyze root causes of any network issues on the hosting platform, encompassing Kubernetes networking and containerized workloads.
- Develop and sustain documentation for systems, infrastructure, and processes (e.g., system diagrams, network topology, Kubernetes settings, device configurations, standard operating procedures).
- Provide on-call support for the identification and resolution of production incidents during off-hours.
- Offer recommendations for enhancing security, scalability, manageability, and performance across the Kubernetes network enclaves.
