Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of experience in network administration or engineering
- Extensive experience troubleshooting firewall issues specifically with Palo Alto Panorama (v11 & 12) and PA Cloud Manager
- In-depth knowledge of PAN-OS
- Experience with Cisco SWA (Secure Web Appliance) including support and troubleshooting
- Advanced understanding of network technologies and architecture
- Knowledge of Palo Altos high availability functionalities
- Proficient in diagnosing and solving firewall, proxy, and security network issues
- Familiarity with VPN, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, UDP, QoS, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS
- Solid grasp of encryption protocols and security best practices
- Excellent customer service skills and written/verbal communication in English
- Ability to communicate technical matters to diverse audiences clearly and succinctly
- Capability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Network Security team on the design, implementation, and administration of firewall, VPN, and web proxy technologies
- Provide support for Palo Alto Firewalls (both physical and virtual) and Palo Alto Panorama
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to firewall, proxy, security, and other network components
- Manage firewall-related access requests and resolve problem tickets
- Ensure compliance with change management policies and procedures
Description
We are seeking a skilled engineer for a remote position focusing on Palo Alto technologies. This role is part of our Network Security team, responsible for managing firewall, VPN, and web proxy technologies. We offer competitive compensation ranging from $50 to $70 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications, as well as benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) retirement plan. While the position is fully remote, candidates from the Greensboro, NC or Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area may have the possibility to transition to a hybrid schedule in Burlington, NC.
