Network Engineer - Cisco & Juniper

- Design, implement, and set up network and VoIP hardware/software - Oversee network performance to ensure optimal availability for all users - Lead efforts to troubleshoot network performance issues and resolve major outages - Analyze network traffic and prepare reports for capacity planning - Solve complex problems relating to network systems, components, and protocols - Utilize service management tools for documenting incidents, requests, and projects - Adhere to established policies for tracking issues and follow-ups - Engage in formal change management processes concerning hardware and software - Accurately record worked and non-worked time daily and weekly - Recommend both short- and long-term strategies for network and security - Manage and verify backups for data/voice networks; assist in disaster recovery planning - Develop and enforce policies for network asset management and inventory control - Assess and make recommendations for network hardware and software purchases - Collaborate with clients to identify needs and resolve network issues - Provide leadership on projects, including the ability to modify or end projects as necessary - Mentor and offer guidance to technical team members - Maintain relationships with vendors and service providers for escalations and support - Work with security teams to secure systems through scanning and hardening - Identify and respond to vulnerabilities, attacks, and security incidents - Develop specification documents for configurations, installations, and builds adhering to industry standards
