Requirements
Must:
- In-depth experience with Unix/Linux servers, especially Suse, AIX, RHEL, CentOS for installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python, along with automation tools like Ansible.
- Demonstrable capability in performing UNIX builds.
- Understanding of patch management tools like RedHat Satellite, IBM NIM, or SUSE Manager.
- Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, and SSH for effective troubleshooting in distributed environments.
- Familiarity with virtual machine management (VmWare, OpenShift) and functionalities like TCP/IP, remote administration, cloning, and migration.
- Expert knowledge of security best practices including user access controls, OS hardening, and compliance measures.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills for effective collaboration and resolution of complex issues.
- Operational experience with Ansible and Terraform is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Saltstack is a plus, as well as experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily administration of all Linux-based servers, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Manage the trouble ticket queue and execute system troubleshooting as necessary.
- Implement hardware and software system changes, including scripting and patching.
- Monitor system performance and conduct system sizing and integration tasks.
- Execute upgrade implementations and perform hardware diagnostics.
- Collaborate with application administrators to resolve and fine-tune application issues.
- Maintain and update system documentation regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
