Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in vulnerability management engineering specifically in contemporary SaaS or software companies
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms
- Demonstrated ability to automate processes utilizing Python or PowerShell
- Proven capability to operate as a high-level individual contributor, senior advisor, and technical lead
- Comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment focused on operational improvements
- Effective communicator with a talent for influencing technical teams
- Familiarity with securing cloud-native applications and networks
- Knowledge of vulnerability scanning and threat protection
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) and Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
- Understanding of Zero Trust principles and compliance standards like GDPR and HIPAA
- Exposure to other cloud environments, including AWS and Google Cloud Platform
- Eagerness to enhance knowledge across security and engineering disciplines
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical authority for vulnerability management, functioning as an advanced individual contributor with consulting director influence
- Oversee engineering initiatives in:
(1) SaaS and cloud-centric environments
(2) Kubernetes, containers, and microservices
(3) Azure and AWS-based workloads
(4) Traditional servers, endpoints, and corporate infrastructure
- Revamp operational workflows and decrease manual tasks through Python and/or PowerShell automation
- Collaborate with leadership to execute the long-term strategy for vulnerability management
- Guide junior analysts and elevate team performance without direct managerial responsibilities
- Assess tooling, contribute to future architectural frameworks, and facilitate cross-team collaboration
- Work closely with security, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams
Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Vulnerability Management Engineer Lead to help stabilize and enhance our vulnerability management function during a period of significant evolution. This role will serve as the technical expert and proactive leader, re-establishing operational health, driving automation, and developing the next generation of our vulnerability management program. Ideal candidates will possess deep engineering expertise in modern SaaS environments, strong automation capabilities, and the ability to guide a team in transition. We aim to establish robust, standardized, and measurable endpoint security foundations that balance risk reduction with productivity, working in close partnership with our IT and Security teams. This is a fully remote position based out of Chicago, IL, offering competitive pay ranging from $80.00 to $90.00/hr and various benefits including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) plan, and more.
