Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience in Carrier Ethernet or large ISP settings
- Strong background with Nokia and Juniper networking equipment
- Extensive knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, and OSPF
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications or related field preferred
- Advanced level proficiency in configuring Alcatel/Nokia, Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper routers and switches
- Familiarity with project management principles and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent analytical, strategic, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of high availability, scalability, and security concepts
- Ability to mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, implement, and document new network solutions
- Conduct testing of new technologies and service architectures in lab settings
- Prepare Engineering Estimates and Installation Packages as necessary
- Offer escalation and troubleshooting support to operations teams
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to enhance their technical skills
- Maintain reliable operation of our IP/MPLS core network and carrier Ethernet transport systems
- Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure operational efficiency and growth of the network
