Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in fiber splicing required
- Tech II level or higher in structured cabling expertise
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems
- Familiarity with terminations and punch-down procedures
- Must not have been employed at this specific data center in the last 6 months
- OSHA 10 certification required before start date
- Ability to work extended hours and maintain dependable attendance
Responsibilities
- Execute fiber splicing in a data center (single-mode and/or multi-mode)
- Pull, route, dress, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling in accordance with TIA/EIA standards
- Terminate RJ45 connectors and patch panels as necessary
- Carry out telecom punch-downs on 110/66 blocks
- Assist with cable testing utilizing tools like Fluke and EXFO
- Support proper handling, routing, and dressing of fiber cables
- Maintain an orderly, clean workspace and adhere to safety protocols
- Receive guidance from senior technicians and site supervisors
Description
We are looking for skilled Data Center Fiber Splicing Technicians (Tech II and above) to contribute to an ongoing data center project in Atlanta, GA. This role requires technicians with hands-on fiber splicing expertise, as we are not considering entry-level candidates. In this fast-paced environment, you will work on fiber and structured cabling tasks while upholding quality and safety standards. We offer a competitive pay range between $35.00 - $45.00/hour, consistent first-shift hours, and a range of benefits, including medical, dental, and retirement plans.
