Requirements
Must:
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic networks
- Proficient in ArcGIS and enterprise GIS tools
- Experience with system integration and Python scripting
- Familiarity with mapping and spatial analysis
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in GIS, preferably in fiber optics or telecommunications
- Expertise in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise
- Experience with field data collection tools and mobile GIS applications
- Proficient with CAD systems and as-built documentation
- Ability to integrate GIS with enterprise business systems
- Advanced skills in Python for automation and data manipulation
- Solid understanding of spatial databases and geoprocessing workflows
- Knowledge of fiber optic network architecture and terminology
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- (Preferred) Familiarity with 3GIS and OSPInsight applications
- (Preferred) Knowledge of additional programming languages like SQL or JavaScript
- (Preferred) Bachelors degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage GIS datasets relating to fiber optic infrastructure
- Use ArcGIS and other GIS tools for mapping, analysis, and data management
- Integrate GIS data with various business systems to enhance workflows
- Create and maintain Python scripts for processing and automating tasks
- Work collaboratively with engineering, IT, and operations teams on network initiatives
- Ensure the integrity and consistency of GIS data across platforms
- Provide GIS training and support to internal teams as needed
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, maps, and reports to inform stakeholders of network status and updates
