Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline
- Extensive experience in a senior DevOps role with a solid grasp of software engineering principles
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps, particularly CI/CD pipelines and YAML workflows
- In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD best practices, and cloud governance
- Familiarity with working in Azure cloud environments
- Experience with GitHub and/or GitLab, preferably in Microsoft-focused settings
- Proficient in scripting, ideally using PowerShell in Windows-based environments
- Understanding of agile methodologies and collaboration within agile teams
- Capable of diagnosing complex pipeline, infrastructure, and deployment challenges
- Background in application development, notably with .NET, C#, or VB (preferred)
- Experience in modernizing older pipelines and deployment strategies (preferred)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk at a high level (preferred)
- Background in regulated sectors such as insurance or financial services (a plus)
Responsibilities
- Create and implement reusable, version-controlled YAML pipeline templates within Azure DevOps
- Incorporate security tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, SBOM, package scanning tools like Phylum/Veracode) into CI/CD procedures
- Conduct gap analyses of current pipelines based on security and governance criteria
- Automate compliance evidence gathering and monitor for security regressions
- Work closely with architecture, cloud, and security teams to align DevOps processes with enterprise standards
- Provide support and mentorship to engineering teams in the adoption of modern DevOps and DevSecOps practices
- Participate in cloud governance projects, including secret management and policy enforcement
Description
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our progressive software engineering team focused on enhancing DevOps and DevSecOps capabilities throughout our organization. This role is critical in modernizing CI/CD pipelines, integrating security and governance into automated processes, and empowering engineering teams with efficient, secure delivery methods. We offer a contract position based in Omaha, NE, providing competitive pay ranging from $50.00 to $75.00 per hour as well as comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, and paid time off. This is an onsite role, and we value long-term impact, driving improvements in cloud governance and developer productivity in a large, stable enterprise.
