Requirements
Must:
- Over 3 years of practical experience in a data center environment, specifically in break/fix, deployments, and troubleshooting
- 2 to 4 years of experience with computer hardware, servers, and their components
- Proficiency in hardware installation, rack-and-stack procedures, and structured cabling
- Experience in supporting data center operations and infrastructure
- Competence in following detailed technical protocols and safety regulations
- Understanding of ticketing systems and operational documentation
Responsibilities
- Oversee systems and equipment, monitoring for malfunctions, errors, or performance concerns
- Carry out hardware installation, deployment, and removal tasks, including rack-and-stack and cabling work
- Prepare, stage, and execute equipment startups and shutdowns in accordance with established procedures and checklists
- Perform post-installation assessments to ensure grounding, labeling, cabling, and safety adherence
- Identify and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues, promptly diagnosing root causes and applying solutions
- Replace defective components and conduct basic hardware refreshes (such as memory upgrades and rebuilds)
- Address system or program error messages and take necessary corrective measures
- Collaborate with technical teams to assist in testing and debugging new systems or programs
- Utilize spreadsheets and software tools for tracking data, loading information, and generating reports
- Record work performed and escalate incidents or challenges according to established protocols
