Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree or Technical Military/Trade School Degree with relevant experience
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with generators, UPS units, and PDUs
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS)
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 39 pounds independently and participating in group lifts for 40+ pounds
- Willingness to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
- Excellent problem-solving skills and technical writing abilities
- Strong collaboration skills with capability to work with diverse teams
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections to monitor and document data of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems to ensure continuous reliability
- Oversee Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS)
- Assist in diagnosing facility and rack-level issues while adhering to internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Execute rack installations and decommissioning in accordance with internal SLA
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical and mechanical systems
- Contribute technical documentation to support change management initiatives
- Manage daily work requests through to resolution and lead projects from inception to completion
- Provide on-site supervision of contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with established protocols and local regulations
- Adapt work schedule based on site requirements; shifts may be extended up to 12 hours and could include on-call duties
- Support multiple locations or sites as needed
Description
We are excited to offer a 24-week program designed to equip you with the necessary skills and hands-on experience required for a career as a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT). The first 14 weeks will involve course training at Northern Virginia Community College in Woodbridge, VA, followed by 8 weeks of practical training at Amazons Data Center in Fredericksburg, VA. Upon successful completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time positions.
