Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with 5 years of relevant controls experience, or 10 years of relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 5 years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments such as data centers, pharmaceutical manufacturing, oil and gas, petrochemical, laboratories, or similar fields.
- 4 years of comprehensive project or vendor management experience including handling requests for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, and tracking of RFIs and submittals related to construction and project execution.
- MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls/Automation) is preferred.
- Experience in designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting, or servicing HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems and networks.
- Proficiency in utilizing common industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, and/or MODBUS.
- Strong understanding of engineering documentation, including electrical and mechanical diagrams and standard operating procedures.
- Capability to manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and requirements while navigating complex scenarios.
- Experience in designing data centers or critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the scope, schedule, budget, and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement initiatives within data centers.
- Assist with procurement activities, including requests for quotations/proposals, responding to information requests, reviewing vendor proposals, and issuing purchase orders.
- Participate in project-related meetings, coordinate with project leads, and regularly update status to controls and stakeholder management.
- Support commissioning activities related to controls projects in the data centers.
- Evaluate, implement, troubleshoot, and refine the controls sequence of operation (SOO), providing necessary feedback to the design team.
- Develop and adjust controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces.
- Manage deliverables from multiple stakeholders and navigate challenging situations.
- Financially oversee BMS and EPMS service contracts.
- Frequently visit assigned operating data centers to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work to ensure compliance with project scope, design SOO, and applicable local regulations.
- Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with the design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of BMS and EPMS systems.
- Provide technical support and assistance to operations throughout the lifecycle of the data center.
- Review maintenance results and action items related to BMS and EPMS, ensuring timely resolution of any issues.
