Cloud Architect (AWS, Azure)

- Develop and design target state architectures, solution diagrams, and roadmaps for cloud-native and hybrid environments, incorporating networking, compute, storage, identity, data, and edge. - Lead the design of Terraform modules, standards, and reusable patterns while implementing CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. - Construct and automate landing zones, VPC/VNet topologies, subnet configurations, routing, firewalls, private endpoints, and service integrations within AWS or Azure. - Integrate security and compliance controls, such as IAM/ABAC/RBAC, secrets management, and encryption, aligning to relevant frameworks like CIS/NIST. - Engineer for high availability and disaster recovery, establishing multi-AZ/region patterns, implementing backup strategies, and creating service-level objectives (SLOs) while ensuring observability through logs, metrics, and traces. - Optimize costs by right-sizing resources, utilizing savings plans and reserved instances, and implementing tagging strategies for chargeback/showback. - Provide technical leadership by creating reference architectures, standards, and patterns, while also conducting design reviews and threat modeling, and mentoring junior engineers. - Direct the discovery, assessment, and migration or modernization of workloads into cloud landing zones, including rehosting and refactoring strategies. - Convert business requirements into technical architectures and produce comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and executive-ready diagrams. - Contribute to platform engineering initiatives, including the development of golden images, service catalogs, self-service capabilities, and policy-as-code improvements.
