Requirements
Must:
- Over 20 years of enterprise Linux/UNIX engineering experience in supporting large-scale, production environments.
- Strong practical expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 5-8) and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES).
- At least 5 years of experience with Ansible, focusing on playbook development and large-scale automation, including AWX/Tower integrations.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with Jenkins, particularly in pipeline configuration and automation workflows.
- Proven ability in supporting PostgreSQL and Oracle at the operating system level, including patch management and troubleshooting in production settings.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift specifically for managing the lifecycle of container hosts.
- At least 3 years of cloud and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using AWS, Azure, and Terraform for provisioning and automation.
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, KornShell) and best practices for Git-based version control.
- Experience operating within regulated or compliance-focused environments, with a strong emphasis on uptime and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and sustain automation solutions for Linux system provisioning, patching, and configuration management leveraging Ansible and AWX.
- Lead lifecycle initiatives for enterprise Linux, such as in-place OS upgrades and standardization within extensive server environments.
- Enhance and support CI/CD pipelines, utilizing Jenkins and Git-based workflows, with a focus on access control, deployment automation, and governance.
- Provide top-tier Linux platform support for database-hosting systems, ensuring their reliability, security, performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Engineer and manage infrastructure for container platforms, supporting Kubernetes and OpenShift worker nodes through patching, fine-tuning, and middleware assistance.
- Provision and oversee hybrid cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to enhance deployment reliability, minimize manual processes, and boost system stability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, standards, and runbooks to foster operational consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Offer technical guidance, mentorship, and training to engineering teams regarding automation tools, Linux best practices, and platform operations.
- Monitor the health and performance of systems using enterprise-level observability tools and address incidents to support high-availability environments.
