Requirements
Must:
- Masters degree or PhD in computer science, statistics, economics, or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in statistics and machine learning for complex business problem solving
- Proficient in advanced statistical analysis using statistical software and scripting languages
- Familiarity with big data analysis tools and deployment of predictive models
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques and data analytics methodologies
- Expertise with at least one Data Science environment (R, Python, SAS) and one database architecture (SQL, NoSQL)
- Background in financial services is preferred
- Solid understanding of predictive modeling methods and experience with both structured and unstructured data sources
- Capability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and coaching junior analysts as needed
- Strong background in Cloud Machine Learning technologies (e.g., AWS Sagemaker) and environments (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
- Strategic thinker with a focus on outcomes and an ability to form professional relationships across different functions
Responsibilities
- Prioritize analytical projects based on their business value and technological feasibility
- Conduct large-scale experiments and develop data-driven models to address business queries
- Research advanced techniques and tools in machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence
- Promote best practices among analytics and product teams
- Serve as the primary resource for machine learning across diverse business areas
- Manage the complete model development process, from defining business requirements to data sourcing, model fitting, and production scoring
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to team members, fostering collaboration across the organization
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business needs are comprehensively understood and met
- Monitor and evaluate emerging trends in technology and their potential implications
- Support individuals through transitions and embody a role model for change

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist for our Enterprise Data and Analytics team in Columbus, OH, on a 3-month contract to hire basis. Our team is dedicated to transforming how data is utilized in banking to enhance customer service, community support, and overall employee experience. Our objective is to become the premier Regional Bank in America, powered by cutting-edge data and analytics. We offer competitive pay ranging from $50.00 to $75.00 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and time off.
