Requirements
Must:
- Completed Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience or a Masters degree with eight (8) years of direct experience.
- Strong knowledge of receiver and transmitter functional blocks, including antennas, power amplifiers, filters, duplexers, oscillators, frequency converters, modulators, and demodulators.
- Extensive experience with RF system phased array and/or beamforming simulation and analysis using tools such as Microwave Office, Keysight ADS, MatLab, and Simulink.
- Proficient in link budget analysis, chain analysis, EVM (Error Vector Magnitude) analysis, and throughput assessment.
- Experienced in scrutinizing high-level system requirements to derive block-level hardware and software needs.
- Familiar with transmitter and receiver impairments including thermal noise, phase noise, non-linearities, PIM, group delay, intermodulation, and spurious effects.
- Knowledgeable about wireless receiver and transmitter architectures, antennas, and related devices.
- Understands wireless infrastructure architectures and air interface standards, including LTE and HSPA.
- Skilled in comprehensive documentation of requirements and architectures and effectively presenting radio architecture concepts.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Establish and document wireless product performance criteria, interfaces, and environmental needs. Analyze wireless standards to develop product specifications.
- Design the product architecture and delegate functions to sub-assemblies, optimizing the distribution of tasks among DSP, mixed signal, and RF components.
- Identify and document the requirements for product sub-assemblies.
- Execute analyses and simulations to validate that the architectural design meets product specifications.
- Analyse and simulate RF, MIMO, and beamforming characteristics from baseband to antenna and wireless link utilizing Microwave Office, Keysight ADS, MatLab, and Simulink. Conduct chain analysis to optimize parametric distribution and assess RF impairment to ensure system performance and channel integrity, along with performing link budget assessments to properly size power amplifier and antenna features.
- Perform trade studies and analyses to enhance product cost, size, weight, and power consumption while fulfilling requirements with sufficient margin to ensure high production yield.
- Specify the product Development Verification Testing (DVT), engineering test, and production test requirements, collaborating with test engineers to create suitable test systems.
- In partnership with product design engineers, develop and maintain product estimates for cost, size, weight, and power consumption for the RP.
- Define regulatory, standards, and environmental qualification requirements while coordinating with the quality team to execute product qualification and certification testing.
