Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related engineering field with over 9 years of relevant technical experience
- More than 9 years of robust Java design and software development expertise, including the design, development, and documentation of large-scale enterprise software systems
- Proficient in diagnosing issues and providing support for production systems
- Experience with cloud applications utilizing serverless technologies such as AWS S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, etc.
- Knowledge of Java Micro Service Architecture frameworks like Spring Boot
- Familiarity with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with SQL databases (preferably Oracle) and strong SQL/JDBC skills
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Document DB, Cassandra, etc.
- Experience with messaging and streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS, Kinesis)
- Proficiency in XML/JSON formats
- Skills in Unix/Linux environments
- Experience with JPA/Hibernate frameworks
- Background in building RESTful web services and familiarity with query language based APIs like GraphQL
- Proficient in using Jenkins, Maven, GitLab, and Jira for continuous integration and deployment
- Proven expertise in software engineering practices, including generating software specifications and implementing design patterns
- Strong capability to incorporate rigorous unit testing in development processes
Responsibilities
- Collaborate extensively with the tech lead and senior developers to contribute to system architecture design, systems engineering, development, integration testing, and validation across all phases of the software life-cycle for a Java backend application involving comprehensive messaging and transaction processing
- Design and implement Micro Service Architecture for cloud-based applications
- Employ modern software engineering tools like Eclipse, Jira, and Atlassian Suites during the design, development, and testing processes
- Present solutions during formal and informal design reviews, ensuring documentation aligns with governmental system lifecycle methodologies
