Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree with 8+ years of experience in system engineering, or High School Diploma/GED with 12+ years of proficient system engineering experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- At least 5 years of experience in designing scalable applications.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience overseeing teams.
- At least 3 years of experience with Marketing solutions and SaaS platforms in Martech and AdTech.
- Demonstrated capability in integrating AI tools and developing AI-driven solutions.
- Over 4 years of managing high-availability technology solutions, including APIs in Java and other platforms, with hands-on experience using monitoring tools and dashboards.
- Minimum 2 years of specialization with Martech/AdTech platforms.
- Strong critical thinking and creativity skills, capable of clearly communicating complex technical concepts to business and client stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel for business as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to understand project requirements, ensuring adherence to standards and timely delivery.
- Partner with multiple IT teams to devise high-availability, high-performance solutions compliant with organizational security standards.
- Oversee the development and management of Marketing and Martech applications.
- Regularly communicate with business and technology leaders to provide updates, dashboards, and reviews of solutions.
- Manage diverse IT technologies and prioritize tasks across several teams using Agile methodologies.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation standards including design papers, coding, testing, and code reviews.
- Implement proactive monitoring strategies to mitigate or prevent application issues.
- Provide 24/7 on-call escalation support whenever necessary.
- Identify prospects for automation, system improvements, and simplifications in engineering solutions.
- Stay enthusiastic about continual learning of emerging technologies including AI/ML/Gen AI.
- Utilize GenAI tools to boost deliverables and efficiency when needed.
- Evaluate SaaS platforms AI capabilities and steer integration strategies based on experience and industry best practices.
- Influence Agile development teams during all phases of the scaled Agile lifecycle.
- Lead Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) initiatives utilizing Bitbucket, CloudBees, Jenkins, and uDeploy tools.
- Work collaboratively with Agile team leaders to ensure deliveries meet expectations at every Program Increment.
- Mentor and coach team members across all levels, influencing both upward and laterally.
- Ensure compliance with all architectural, security, and technology standards set by Synchrony.
- Contribute to defining and maintaining future-state technology architecture and plans for application modernization.
- Define and uphold Non-Functional Requirements, covering performance, security, reliability, scalability, usability, maintainability, and portability.
- Analyze production challenges, troubleshoot effectively, identify root issues, and implement resolutions.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, open-source projects, and programming languages.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to develop or integrate software into company products.
- Guide and nurture engineering leads to boost their technical skills and leadership capabilities.
- Undertake additional tasks and special projects as needed.
