Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of software engineering experience
- Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience with proven strong solution architecture skills
- Expertise in designing intricate technical solutions, particularly microservices and cloud-native designs
- Familiarity with the full stack architecture, including RESTful APIs and microservices ecosystem
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and relevant open-source technologies
- Understanding of JSON, REST, and XML-based web services
- Experience in Database Architecture and Modeling; familiarity with Oracle, MySQL, and SQL
- Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) is a plus
- Proficiency in iOS, Android, Web, React, and AWS is desirable
- Familiarity with production support tools like Splunk or similar
- Experience developing financial or banking applications is advantageous
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication abilities with both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for business as needed
Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the architecture for complex systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and high-performing
- Assist in creating and maintaining the architecture roadmap and technology strategies
- Develop solutions to meet business requirements by documenting systems and business logic
- Ensure compliance with security and technology standards established by Synchrony
- Act as a leading architect for development teams throughout all phases of the Agile development lifecycle
- Engage and collaborate with software developers, UX designers, product managers, and architects to create outstanding application solutions
- Facilitate the adoption of new technologies and assist in migration processes
- Participate in Agile scrums with cross-functional teams
- Create data models to support intricate business processes
- Mentor and influence team members across all levels
- Lead Agile sprints, coordinating activities such as sprint planning and daily standups
- Address production defects, conduct root cause analysis, and guide problem resolution
- Provide periodic 24x7 on-call support throughout the year
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and system performance
- Collaborate with third-party vendors for software development and integration
- Undertake additional duties and special projects as needed
