Director of Data Engineering & Architecture

- Direct, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers through onshore and offshore collaboration - Assist in workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance evaluation - Cultivate a culture of accountability, ongoing improvement, and technical expertise - Provide architectural guidance for the enterprise data warehouse and data lake while ensuring adherence to healthcare data standards and regulations (such as HIPAA) - Design and enhance scalable, secure data pipelines utilizing Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, and Azure-native data services - Facilitate the integration of data from various healthcare sources, including EMRs, claims systems, and patient portals - Guarantee that solutions are built for scalability, dependability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainable maintenance - Collaborate with clinical, operational, analytics, and IT teams to deliver reliable, self-service data and insights - Supervise strategic data initiatives and projects, making sure they align with business objectives and organizational aims - Advocate for and institutionalize Agile and iterative development methodologies within the data engineering team - Establish and uphold data governance, privacy, security, and quality standards across platforms and data pipelines - Ensure compliant management of healthcare data, including PHI, in line with HIPAA and internal regulations - Support data stewardship, documentation, and accountability throughout the data ecosystem - Stay updated on industry trends in data engineering, cloud platforms, DataOps, and MLOps - Spot opportunities to modernize tools, architecture, and delivery methods for enhanced results and efficiency - Contribute to the formulation of a long-term data and analytics strategy and roadmap
