Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of practical experience with residential pool maintenance or usage, including a deep understanding of exceptional scenarios (e.g., extreme temperatures, heavy rainfall, pest issues, unusual chemical conditions, equipment malfunctions).
- 3+ years of experience in product management within technology firms, skilled in drafting PRDs, defining MVPs, and overseeing the complete hardware product development cycle.
- Excellent communication abilities and adaptability to conduct field research and experiments as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Examine the complete lifecycle of residential pool use and upkeep, factoring in construction variations, water chemistry, seasonal influences, and compliance/safety requirements.
- Establish product specifications by creating PRDs, detailing features, prioritizing functionalities, setting acceptance standards, and collaborating with engineering on verification testing and critical metrics.
- Develop a thorough boundary-case library and standard operating procedures for various maintenance techniques, regional water conditions, climatic factors, and extreme situations (e.g., algae growth, heavy demand, contamination).
- Propel data-driven decision-making through event tracking, A/B testing, field trials, and beta testing; assess outcomes and create iterative plans.
- Maintain a customer- and field-centric approach by performing user visits, gathering feedback, coordinating user acceptance testing and pilot programs, and validating product performance in real-world contexts.

At SunnyWhale, we are looking to add a Product Manager to our team to oversee our smart pool equipment product line designed for residential pools. This is a remote-friendly position within the US, allowing flexibility to collaborate across different time zones. We offer a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $110,000 per year, along with equity incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and paid time off. Occasional on-site visits for product trials will be required, ensuring hands-on engagement with our products in various environments.
