Requirements
Must:
- Associate or bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant IT experience with a preference for senior systems engineering support.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Experience in Microsoft Windows Server 2016+ administration and engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory administration and engineering.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 10+ engineering and administration.
- Basic experience in Linux (RedHat or similar) administration.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities for various complex IT issues.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with a commitment to personal and professional development.
- Capacity to identify and assess trends in industry best practices and policies.
- Practical experience in network troubleshooting and Microsoft domain services (DNS, DHCP, etc.) management.
- Knowledge in backup and storage engineering.
Responsibilities
- Direct the design and enhancement of Windows Server and Active Directory environments, including DNS, DHCP, and group policies.
- Guide the administration and engineering of Linux (RedHat or others).
- Supervise and maintain enterprise-level virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Handle advanced networking setups, including LAN/WAN configurations, VLANs, and troubleshooting connectivity problems.
- Implement, monitor, and resolve vulnerabilities utilizing tools such as ACAS, EVSS (Nessus), and HBSS.
- Manage enterprise backup and disaster recovery plans to guarantee business continuity.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server and associated services.
- Develop and uphold security best practices while ensuring compliance with IAVM/STIG standards in partnership with ISSOs.
- Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell and other scripting languages to enhance productivity.
- Lead technical initiatives including system migrations, upgrades, and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption and peak performance.
- Provide mentorship to junior systems engineers and IT staff members.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to propose and implement innovative solutions.
- Respond quickly to escalated requests.
- Collaborate effectively within a team and maintain clear communication.
- Record all hours and expenses as they arise.
- Pursue continuous education, broadening technical expertise and achieving industry-standard certifications.
- Analyze and discuss complex issues, providing recommendations based on informed assessments.
- Maintain a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
