Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- Over 4 years of experience in software engineering, particularly with embedded systems
- Substantial professional background in software engineering showcasing staff-level technical leadership
- Strong expertise in C and C++ for embedded and system software
- Practical experience with Qt and QML for application and user interface development
- Familiarity with working in a regulated development environment that necessitates formal documentation, reviews, and traceability
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and validation of software for medical devices in line with regulatory standards
- Create high-quality, maintainable software using C, C++, Linux, and Qt/QML
- Ensure compliance with IEC 62304 for software life cycle processes
- Engage in and support risk management processes per ISO 14971, including hazard analysis and risk control for software
- Assist in defining system-level and software requirements, along with ensuring traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and verification artifacts
- Work collaboratively with Quality, Regulatory, Systems Engineering, and Hardware teams to facilitate FDA design controls (21 CFR 820)
- Support software verification and validation efforts, encompassing test planning, execution, and documentation
- Participate in design and code reviews as well as technical risk assessments
- Mentor fellow engineers and establish best practices for compliant software development, documentation, and review processes
