Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related discipline, or 6 years of additional relevant experience in place of a degree.
- At least 4 years of experience in data engineering or a similar technical position.
- Proven capability in developing and managing comprehensive data engineering solutions, from problem identification to architectural design, deployment, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language essential for data engineering (e.g., Python, Powershell, R, Spark).
- Background in ETL/ELT processes, optimization, maintenance of data pipelines, and data warehouse architecture.
- Familiarity with DataOps, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies using GitHub/GitLab.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms or distributed computing frameworks.
- Skills in conducting code reviews, maintaining quality standards, and implementing improvements in production environments.
- Masters degree (preferred).
- Familiarity with Microsoft data services, such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Server, and Databricks (preferred).
- Experience in database administration (preferred).
- Knowledge of data-driven reporting platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Transform business requirements into efficient and effective data pipelines, incorporating appropriate ETL/ELT processes and monitoring/logging for diverse data sources such as Databricks Unity Catalog, SAP HANA, Microsoft SSAS, Azure SQL Server, Oracle, Parquet, APIs, and Excel & CSVs.
- Mentor and guide colleagues in advanced troubleshooting and conducting root cause analyses.
- Independently execute and document requirements, business logic, impact assessments, and technical documentation to ensure the maintenance and troubleshooting of critical systems and data assets.
- Lead discussions with cross-divisional Stryker teams to collaboratively leverage domain expertise and emerging capabilities for impactful results.
- Offer valuable insights during discussions to uncover opportunities in data architecture and movement that facilitate business developments with key stakeholders.
- Lead and present communications that enhance data engineering credibility and relationships within a medium-sized group, with some assistance.
