Requirements
Must:
- 1-3 years of proven experience with Excel, SQL, Python (or a similar programming language), including data processing, visualization, and analysis skills
- Familiarity with server-based systems and JSON/CSV data formats
- Proficiency in executing queries on large, complex datasets
- Expertise in Microsoft Suite, particularly SQL Server, Excel, Power BI, Teams, and Outlook
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, creativity, and effective problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills, adaptable to changing priorities
- Outstanding communication capabilities to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in finance, computer science, or a related field
- SIE exam required within the first 6 months of employment
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Trade Desk Surveillance (TDS) and cross-functional teams to align goals and deliver data-driven solutions
- Gather, analyze, and prepare trade data from various systems to investigate exceptions and assist with reviews and audits
- Gain expertise in surveillance, trading, and reporting systems to analyze workflows and pinpoint improvement opportunities
- Understand the Firms regulatory requirements to enhance the TDS program and assist in reviewing extensive data sets
- Develop and maintain scalable, data-driven automations to provide timely, actionable insights and optimize processes
- Utilize SQL to create and execute database queries and support the development of new databases
- Document procedures clearly and maintain a knowledge base for solutions, using Jira for project development and issue management
- Perform regular testing and reconciliation of regulatory reporting data in collaboration with TDS, Trading, Compliance, and external vendors
- Mentor and assist interns and team members in data analysis and automated workflows
- Investigate exceptions across asset classes and systems, escalating issues as necessary
- Apply analytical and technical skills to solve problems and tackle ad hoc tasks
