Requirements
Must:
- Technical diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electronics, or a related field
- Proficiency in English at B1/B2 level or higher
- In-depth knowledge of mechatronic systems and industrial automation
- Experience with PLCs and related hardware (Siemens required; Rockwell, Beckhoff, or similar preferred)
- Competence in HMI interfaces
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Familiarity with industrial programming languages (Ladder Diagram, Structured Control Language)
- Sound understanding of Windows/Linux systems and industrial networks
- Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical service tasks on equipment, including diagnostics for electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control software
- Ensure maximum machine efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction
- Travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 40%)
- Handle requests for equipment modifications and customizations
- Act as the primary technical liaison for customers reporting issues
- Provide remote troubleshooting and support
- Diagnose and resolve problems involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems
- Offer both remote and onsite assistance
- Create technical service reports and documentation
- Update and configure PLC, HMI, SCADA, and related control systems
- Implement software updates and patches
- Tailor PLC logic and HMI interfaces to meet customer specifications
- Collaborate with internal software teams on feature development and enhancements
- Develop technical manuals, operating guides, and intervention reports
- Deliver training to customers on system operation and maintenance
- Manage internal documentation, including schematics, software versions, and configuration files
- Collect customer feedback and suggest product or process enhancements
- Identify recurring technical issues and recommend corrective measures
- Participate in internal technical meetings, workshops, and improvement initiatives
- Install, test, and commission mechatronic machinery at customer sites
Description
We are looking for a talented Mechatronic & Software Service Technician to deliver cutting-edge post-sales technical support for our industrial equipment. Our team is dedicated to collaborating effectively across departments, including Service Management, Field Technicians, Production, R&D, and Back Office. This position requires both onsite service interventions as well as remote support, ideally based in New Jersey, but candidates in Indiana (South Bend), or nearby areas such as Mishawaka are also welcome to apply.
