Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in design and development of heated and ventilated seat systems
- Strong understanding of thermal performance testing and validation
- Proficiency in engineering documentation and project management tools
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers
- Knowledge of DFMEAs and DVP&Rs
- Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and release of heating and ventilation components for seating solutions from conception to production
- Create and manage technical specifications and design documentation for heated and ventilated seating systems
- Oversee the integration of heat and ventilation systems into seating structures while ensuring compliance with safety and comfort standards
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation in company systems including part numbers and drawings
- Collaborate with suppliers on design proposals and feasibility studies to achieve performance targets
- Coordinate and execute validation activities for thermal performance and compliance
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and implement design modifications
- Provide support during vehicle builds to resolve performance and fit issues promptly
- Work with various teams to ensure systems operate effectively and integrate seamlessly
- Manage engineering changes and quality enhancements for active production programs
- Address functional safety and regulatory requirements related to thermal safety and occupant comfort
- Monitor and report on program progress, risks, and outstanding issues to the management team
- Research and benchmark innovative seat comfort technologies to influence company strategies
