Must:
We are looking for a Development Lead to become part of our Interior Seating team. In this position, you will serve as a technical leader and mentor, guiding Design Release Engineers (DREs) involved in various seat subdisciplines such as structures, plastics, trim, foam, and Just-In-Time (JIT) seat assemblies. You’ll be responsible for ensuring effective engineering execution, collaboration across functions, and the timely completion of program milestones.
Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership:
- Offer direction and supervision to DREs on seat system components (structures, plastics, trim, foam) and overall seat assemblies.
- Guarantee adherence to our engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory guidelines.
- Help to update specifications based on lessons learned and continuous improvement efforts.
2. Program Support:
- Lead the resolution of issues and risk management across various subdisciplines.
- Assist in achieving program timelines, cost objectives, and quality standards through proactive planning and execution.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams to ensure smooth integration of seat systems.
- Facilitate communication between engineering teams and suppliers to guarantee complete seat delivery.
4. Process & Continuous Improvement:
- Advocate for best practices in design, validation, and launch readiness.
- Identify avenues for innovation and efficiency in seat system development.
5. Mentorship & Development:
- Act as a mentor for DREs, nurturing their technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Support the onboarding and training process for new engineers within the seating team.
