Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience may substitute, year for year) - Minimum of 6 years as a full-stack, object-oriented developer with proven experience in deploying modern solutions using Microsoft technologies - Expertise in designing scalable, maintainable, and efficient systems with a deep understanding of architectural principles and standards in distributed and enterprise environments - Proficient in design patterns, particularly for multi-tier application design - Skilled in developing and integrating with RESTful and SOAP APIs - Competent in modern responsive web design utilizing CSS/SASS and UI/UX principles - Knowledgeable in accessible IT software, technology, practices, and policies - Experience applying testing pyramid methodologies to enhance test coverage and effective defect detection - Proficient in ORM/RDBMS, especially MS SQL Server and complex SQL queries - Familiarity with DevOps practices and constructing delivery pipelines - Acquainted with Agile development methodologies - Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), including SharePoint and Umbraco - Familiarity with Microsoft cloud technologies - Understanding of messaging queues like RabbitMQ - Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure AKS) - Familiarity with utilizing AI tools to improve software development workflows - A collaborative team member who is reliable, responsible, and takes ownership of tasks - Strong capability to manage multiple tasks effectively, showcasing excellent prioritization and organizational skills - Committed to delivering outstanding customer service - Ability and enthusiasm for mentoring and leading team members - Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to explain complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences - Keen interest in keeping abreast of industry trends and integrating relevant tools/technologies

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for the Washington State Legislature - Build and support web and Windows applications using languages and technologies including C#, .NET, WPF, JavaScript, IIS, T-SQL, JSON, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, Blazor, and jQuery - Create and manage Web and RESTful APIs utilized by multiple applications - Modernize and transition legacy applications to new frameworks - Write and conduct unit tests along with automated testing - Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines and create build scripts - Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions within an Agile/Scrum framework - Lead and mentor junior software developers on the team - Collaborate with various developers to refine our development processes and elevate our standards and practices
