Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field, with 8 years of relevant experience as an application administrator or database administrator, or a Masters degree with 6 years of experience. - Proven ability in deploying and supporting middleware stacks (WebLogic, Apache, Oracle SOA Suite) in AWS and Oracle Cloud environments, ensuring availability, security, and scalability. - Experience in migrating legacy systems to cloud-native containers using Docker, Kubernetes, and modern orchestration tools. - Proficiency in designing and maintaining AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab) to enhance deployment, monitoring, and patch processes. - Skilled in managing Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases, with a solid background in tuning, backups, schema alterations, and security improvements. - Ability to create Python and Shell scripts for automating routine operations, deployment tasks, and system monitoring. - Experience in analyzing system and application performance and implementing solutions to reduce latency and enhance throughput. - Knowledge in remediating vulnerabilities and enforcing secure configurations across applications, middleware, and databases. - Previous experience providing 24/7 support for critical applications, diagnosing infrastructure challenges, and maintaining high availability and performance SLAs.

Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and support hybrid and cloud-based middleware and database infrastructures for secure, scalable enterprise applications. - Manage both on-premises and cloud environments (AWS/Oracle Cloud), concentrating on middleware platforms like WebLogic, Apache/Tomcat, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and SOA Suite. - Lead the modernization of legacy applications by migrating to AWS EC2/ECS environments utilizing containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Support the transition to cloud-native platforms to improve system agility and maintainability. - Administer and optimize relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) focusing on performance tuning, schema design, backup/recovery, and security hardening. - Ensure compliance with institutional data governance and security standards. - Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins and GitLab. - Automate application deployment, monitoring, and patch management workflows using scripting languages such as Python and Shell to enhance reliability and minimize manual effort. - Provide round-the-clock production support for mission-critical systems, troubleshoot JVM and OS-level issues, conduct root cause analysis, and uphold SLAs for uptime and performance. - Design and enforce disaster recovery strategies and failover mechanisms. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, researchers, DevOps engineers) to deliver scalable and secure solutions that align with academic and operational objectives.
