Requirements

Must:
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification, along with at least one year of experience in a hotel or a related field is essential. - A preference for at least two years of progressive experience in a hotel or similar environment. - Trade school or college coursework in a related area is preferable. - Flexibility regarding long hours may be necessary. - Ability to lift and move heavy objects, occasionally requiring over 100 pounds of force, frequently over 50 pounds, and constantly over 20 pounds. - A warm and friendly demeanor is crucial at all times. - Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to interact thoughtfully and courteously with all employees and guests. - The capacity to listen, comprehend, and clarify concerns raised by staff and visitors is essential. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize functions to meet deadlines. - A service-oriented approach when interacting with guests and employees is vital. - Attendance at required meetings and training sessions is expected. - Consistent attendance, adhering to Highgate Hotel Standards, is mandatory based on scheduling needs. - High standards of personal appearance and grooming are required, including adherence to the uniform policy. - Compliance with Highgate Hotel standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations is needed. - A proactive attitude toward productivity, identifying problems, and assisting in solutions is essential. - Effective problem-solving skills, including anticipation, prevention, and identification of issues, are necessary. - Ability to process and apply complex information and data to meet objectives. - Willingness to cross-train in other areas of the hotel is expected. - Confidentiality regarding sensitive information must be maintained. - Initiative in anticipating guest or operational needs is essential. - Other duties as assigned by management will be expected.

Responsibilities

- I will be responsible for conducting repairs to the hotel’s air conditioning system, such as changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors. - Preventive maintenance on all equipment (including boilers, chillers, HVAC, and electrical systems) will be performed by me. - I am required to take necessary readings on various equipment. - Testing cooling towers and documenting readings will be part of my duties. - I will replace and program televisions as necessary. - Switching out light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures is part of my hands-on tasks. - I will conduct furniture repairs as needed. - Pumps will be replaced and repaired under my supervision. - Plumbing repairs, including fixing clogged drains and changing washers or handles, will be my responsibility. - I should be able to read and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams. - Tracing and repairing water lines will be part of my role. - Kitchen equipment troubleshooting and repairs will fall within my responsibilities. - I will maintain detailed records of repairs and preventive maintenance. - Compliance with local, state, and federal codes will be essential in my work. - I will be tasked with testing, cleaning, and repairing swimming pools and spas. - Painting designated areas and repairing sheetrock will also be included in my job responsibilities. - I will handle all types of wall covering repairs and manage the hotel’s electronic lock system repairs and programming. - Assisting with the supervision of other engineering staff members will be a part of my duties. - I will help coordinate preventive maintenance tasks.
