Senior Infrastructure Engineer

- Design, implement, and maintain intricate enterprise-scale physical and virtual infrastructures, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises systems and AWS cloud services. - Lead the architectural design and governance of VMware technologies, including advanced site recovery orchestration (SRM) to ensure business continuity and automated disaster recovery. - Plan and execute high-stakes upgrades, complex migrations, and long-term capacity expansions based on multi-year business strategies. - Oversee the installation, configuration, and advanced maintenance of Windows, Linux, and IBM MQ servers, setting the benchmarks for performance, security, and high availability. - Spearhead infrastructure automation projects using scripting and configuration management tools to standardize routine maintenance, patching, and resource monitoring. - Provide Tier 3 support to troubleshoot and resolve the most complex server and storage-related issues. - Develop and enforce thorough infrastructure documentation standards, including architectural blueprints, procedural guides, and best practice frameworks. - Manage expert-level IBM MQ administration, performing high-level cluster configuration, performance tuning, and global monitoring strategies. - Govern the Microsoft 365 suite and productivity tools, ensuring enterprise-wide security compliance, tenant health, and optimal user satisfaction. - Establish and review security best practices across all layers of infrastructure, ensuring adherence to industry frameworks and internal compliance requirements. - Collaborate with senior application owners and stakeholders to design optimized system performance and address systemic technical bottlenecks. - Design and supervise the deployment of robust, multi-site backup and recovery solutions for virtual machines, NAS, and mission-critical applications. - Define a strategy for regular backup integrity evaluations and data availability assessments to ensure 100% recoverability. - Architect and govern AWS compute and storage environments, securing optimal instance selection (EC2), volume management (EBS/EFS), and S3 lifecycle policies for enterprise workloads. - Lead the design and management of AWS Sandbox and production environments, enforcing infrastructure governance through AWS Organizations and IAM least-privilege resource access. - Orchestrate large-scale migrations of on-premises VMware workloads to AWS, utilizing AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) for minimal downtime and stability. - Implement and manage AWS Backup and Disaster Recovery strategies, ensuring cloud-native workloads align with the same RPO/RTO standards as on-premises core servers. - Optimize AWS cloud infrastructure costs through advanced resource monitoring, auto-scaling groups, and strategic instance rightsizing to support business efficiency objectives. - Lead cross-functional IT teams and engage with external clients throughout the infrastructure lifecycle, delivering high-level strategic solutions from initial assessment through to change implementation.
