Requirements
Must:
I am seeking candidates who possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and/or relevant experience in the hotel or a similar field. A minimum of one year of progressive experience in the hotel or related sector is preferred. Completion of trade school courses and/or college coursework in a related area would be advantageous. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as is the capacity to exert considerable physical effort, including lifting over 100 pounds occasionally, and more than 50 pounds frequently. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to interact attentively and courteously with all levels of employees and guests. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize departmental responsibilities, approach interactions in a service-oriented fashion, maintain regular attendance per Highgate Hotel Standards, uphold grooming standards, and comply with safety regulations. Additionally, I value those who can effectively identify and resolve issues, understand complex information, be cross-trained in various hotel areas, maintain confidentiality, exhibit initiative, and perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Responsibilities
In this role, I require you to ensure that our property is maintained in optimal condition at all times, minimizing disruptions for customers and staff. Your specific duties will include:
- Carrying out repairs on the hotelโs air conditioning systems, which entails changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
- Performing preventive maintenance on all equipment, including boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
- Taking required readings on equipment and testing cooling towers to document findings.
- Replacing and programming televisions and installing light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures as needed.
- Executing furniture repairs, replacing and fixing pumps, and conducting plumbing tasks such as clearing clogged drains and changing fixtures.
- Reading blueprints and wiring diagrams, tracing and repairing various water lines, and troubleshooting kitchen equipment.
- Maintaining repair records and ensuring work meets local, state, and federal codes, as well as testing and maintaining swimming pools and spas.
- Painting designated areas, repairing sheetrock, and working on different types of wall coverings and electronic lock systems.
