Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or physics - Over 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, quality, or design engineering role - Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, with a passion for innovation and enhancing reliability in advanced technology - Masters degree in mechanical, aerospace, materials, or electrical engineering is preferred - Proven experience applying process controls in high-volume manufacturing, testing, and quality settings - Proficiency in utilizing quality tools such as Lean principles, measurement systems analysis, experimental design, statistical process control, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and advanced product quality planning - Commitment to upholding a Lean approach to quality without sacrificing safety or reliability - Familiarity with developing or supporting complex mechanical/structural assemblies, propulsion systems, additive manufacturing, and various assembly manufacturing processes - Understanding of SQL-based record systems for custom data analysis related to hardware containment and workmanship impact

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, and engine test teams during product testing, acceptance testing, and post-test evaluations to ensure quality hardware validation for flight components - Design, deploy, and assess Lean test and inspection methodologies for both new and existing products, maintaining objective acceptance criteria while consistently meeting quality and reliability objectives - Evaluate product and process performance throughout production, testing, and delivery phases using quality analysis tools, including FMECA and root cause analysis methods - Analyze failures occurring during production, testing, and flight phases; pinpoint and address immediate and root causes to enhance design and process reliability - Manage non-conforming products; offer guidance to quality inspectors and engineering staff during quarantine and rework processes - Aid in continuous improvement on the shop floor, advancing a Lean, autonomous production methodology through the creation of standard rework/repair protocols and streamlining inspection processes - Assist the reliability team in developing and managing data systems that track key performance indicators and overall program metrics for the Raptor program - Adapt effortlessly between innovative hardware development and rigorously traceable flight hardware processes
