Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in physics or an engineering field
- 1+ years of experience with mechanical, fluid, or electrical systems (internships and project teams acceptable)
- Familiarity with concepts in mechanical, drivetrain, and/or electrical engineering
- Experience in a testing-oriented position
- Background in product ownership
- Proficiency with mechanical, drivetrain, and electrical measurement tools
- Experience working with complex mechanical and/or electrical systems and ability to read blueprints and system diagrams
- Strong mathematical, computational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with propulsion systems (e.g., high-pressure fluids, cryogenics combustion testing)
- Able to work flexible hours and provide support on weekends if necessary
- Capable of stooping, bending, crawling, and maneuvering in confined spaces as required
Responsibilities
- Serve as the instrumentation and testing specialist on the flight hardware development team
- Create comprehensive test plans and campaigns to validate flight hardware
- Assist in investigations of anomalies and failures
- Formulate requirements for new test systems necessary for flight hardware testing and validation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to conceptualize and develop new test systems
- Train team members on the processes and operations of intricate test systems
- Guarantee that all testing adheres to safety protocols at all times
