Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, data science, or a related engineering field
- Proficient in software development with experience in either C++ or Python
- Experience with distributed systems or large-scale consumer internet systems is preferred
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of version control, testing methodologies, continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring
- Proficient in improving application performance through profiling
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or CockroachDB
- Previous experience with satellite or spacecraft systems is advantageous
- Strong foundation in mathematics and physics
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and effective communication skills
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests, especially if working on sensitive missions
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software tools to evaluate system performance
- Create prototypes to validate critical design concepts and quantify technical limitations
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to coordinate and oversee product development
- Manage the entire software development process from defining core requirements to prototyping, coding, testing, rollout, and beyond
