Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related STEM field; or 2+ years of relevant professional software development experience in lieu of a degree - Proficiency in Python and/or C, C++ programming languages - Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, along with understanding computer architecture and networks - Familiarity with configuration management and version control systems - Experience with agile development methodologies and continuous integration practices - Skills in automating processes and testing for enhanced manufacturing efficiency - Ability to develop software in interdisciplinary environments - Understanding of control feedback loop design and implementation - Experience with numerical analysis and signal processing techniques - Familiarity with various digital and analog interfaces including GPIB, USB, VISA, TCP/IP, VLAN, CAN bus, SPI, I2C, Modbus, and analog-to-digital conversion - Experience troubleshooting software and hardware interactions, particularly in network devices and laboratory instrumentation - Familiarity with high power electrical systems, electro-mechanical systems, and the development of embedded hardware products - Skills in organizing and analyzing data using tools such as SQL and REST APIs - Knowledge of HTML/CSS for developing web applications and dashboards with tools like Grafana - Strong software design and development capabilities - Expertise in designing fault-tolerant, distributed, or real-time systems - Experience conducting test designs that cover a range of contexts, from unit tests to integrated hardware-in-the-loop testing - Background in working with spacecraft, automotive, or industrial hardware, particularly in high-powered electrical systems and ground support equipment - Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively, take initiative, and communicate effectively - Solid foundational knowledge in networks, electronics, RF communications, optics, mathematics, and physics - Proficient in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing performance - Capacity to adapt and thrive in a dynamically changing environment

Responsibilities

- Create modular and reusable automation and testing software using Python and similar programming languages for engineering design validation and manufacturing purposes - Develop automation software to interface with flight hardware, testing equipment, instruments, and production documentation systems - Design software enabling testing across various environments: hardware-in-the-loop (HITL, HIL) and virtualized hardware simulations - Innovate custom automation solutions to address engineering and manufacturing challenges by leveraging embedded electronics and advanced hardware - Construct algorithms for analyzing intricate test data to verify if components meet specified acceptance criteria - Maintain and resolve issues within existing automation infrastructure and collaborate with partner teams to identify and rectify the root causes of failures - Establish and execute project plans, manage milestones, and conduct reviews to ensure dependable test systems are delivered to production - Invent tools that facilitate more frequent and reliable software deployments, test executions, and data analyses as part of a continuous integration and release framework
