Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or related STEM field; or 2+ years of professional software development experience in place of a degree
- Proficient in C, C++, or Python programming
- Extensive understanding of Linux/Windows operating systems, computer architecture, and networks
- Experience in troubleshooting the interplay between software and hardware, such as network devices and lab instruments
- Skilled in developing application, test, or automation software within a collaborative production environment
- Familiarity with numerical analysis methods and signal processing across various domains
- Knowledgeable in configuration management, version control systems, continuous integration, and agile methodologies
- Proficient with a range of digital and analog interfaces, including GPIB, USB, VISA, TCP/IP, VLAN, CAN bus, SPI, I2C, Modbus, and analog-to-digital conversion
- Ability to design tests that range from basic unit tests to complex integrated hardware-in-the-loop regression and exploratory tests
- Experience with spacecraft, automotive, or similar industrial equipment, including high-powered electromechanical systems and ground support equipment
- Capable of working effectively in a dynamic setting, both independently and within a team, showing initiative and strong problem-solving communication
- Solid foundational knowledge in networks, electronics, RF communication, optics, mathematics, and physics
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
Responsibilities
- Develop modular, reusable testing and automation software in Python and related languages for manufacturing and engineering design validation
- Create automation software that interacts with flight hardware, testing equipment, instrumentation, and production documentation systems
- Design software that facilitates test execution across diverse environments: hardware-in-the-loop (HITL, HIL) and virtual hardware simulations
- Craft custom automation solutions to address engineering and manufacturing challenges by merging embedded electronics with innovative hardware
- Formulate algorithms to evaluate intricate test data and determine component acceptance criteria
- Sustain and resolve issues within existing automation frameworks, collaborating with partner teams to identify and rectify root causes of failures
- Articulate and execute project plans, oversee milestones, and conduct reviews to ensure reliable test systems are successfully delivered to production
- Innovate tools that enhance the frequency and reliability of software deployments, test executions, and data analysis as a component of continuous integration and release systems
