Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a STEM field
- Over 1 year of experience in software development
- At least 1 year of experience with physics-based simulations of real dynamic systems
- Experience in dynamical systems modeling
- Knowledge of lumped parameter modeling of physical systems
- Familiarity with physics-informed neural networks for engineering problems
- Ability to conduct data-driven analysis of complex systems
- Experience inferring root causes from sparse measurements
- Proficiency in compressible and incompressible flow, thermodynamics, thermochemistry, mechanics, and materials
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to teams and management
- Experience in building data pipelines for high-dimensional datasets
- Background in combustion engine or fluid system simulations
- Full stack web development knowledge including database design and frontend skills
- Proficient in frontend frameworks like Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks
- Backend development skills in Python, C#/.NET, C++, or Java
- Experience with version control systems and continuous integration
- Familiarity with Unix-like operating systems
- Knowledge in control feedback loop design and implementation
- Understanding of numerical analysis and signal processing techniques across multiple domains
Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain the accuracy of the lumped-parameter thermofluid physics model for the Raptor engine
- Perform engine cycle analysis to guide future engine designs and thrust enhancements
- Execute anomaly resolutions using the engine model along with sparse instrumentation
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the physics governing rocket engine performance, including variability sources and their related modeling techniques
- Improve the accuracy of the Raptor engine representation in integrated vehicle simulations and flight analyses
- Create tools and platforms to identify performance variability sources and implement improvements in manufacturing and engine design
- Automate prediction processes and performance-generation tools for GNC and flight software
- Collaborate with engineers company-wide to enhance tool interoperability and standardization of hardware and software practices
