Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree (applicable internship experience accepted).
- Proficient in development with assembly, C, or C++.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, debugging, and deploying software utilized in practical applications or projects.
- Familiarity with real-time rendering, game engine development, physics simulation, or other high-performance computing in resource-constrained environments.
- Innovative problem-solving skills and a strong foundation in engineering principles.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capacity to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (UDP, TCP/IP, etc.) and distributed systems.
- Awareness of security challenges related to distributed systems and internet services.
- Must be ready to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Create highly reliable, real-time software for the gateways, satellites, user terminals, and switches that constitute our low latency, high capacity satellite-based global network.
- Engage in and lead architecture, design, and code evaluations.
- Generate prototypes and oversee experiments to validate essential design ideas.
- Build tools for software development and deployment, data analysis and visualization, and testing execution across various settings, including virtualized hardware environments, real hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and on-orbit testing.
