Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline OR 2+ years of experience in software development
- Proficiency in development using C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages
- Strong software design and development abilities
- Experience with designing fault-tolerant, distributed, or real-time systems
- Proficiency in devising cross-context tests, from basic unit tests to integrated hardware-in-the-loop regression and exploratory tests
- Comprehensive understanding of computer architecture and networks
- Knowledge in physics, math, and electronics
- Strong debugging, performance optimization, and testing skills
- Familiarity with Linux programming
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic environment with fluctuating needs and requirements
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, and communicate solutions effectively
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary
Responsibilities
- Develop highly reliable autonomous software systems along with comprehensive testing to confirm their resilience, fault tolerance, and accuracy
- Design software for both spacecraft and the ground systems that support them
- Create prototypes and evaluate system metrics to validate key design concepts and identify technical constraints
- Manage all facets of software development, including design, testing, release, and operational use during missions
- Provide robust technical leadership and continuously seek improvement
