Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS development
- 2+ years of software development experience preferred
- In-depth knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, with proficiency in browser execution
- Familiarity with vector and motion graphics, including SVG, HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, and CSS
- Experience in mobile platform development
- Knowledge of Websockets, gRPC, C++, and Bazel
- Strong commitment to designing, architecting, and creating high-quality, bug-free software
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an integrated engineering setting
- Capacity to prioritize and manage tasks in a high-pressure atmosphere while driving continuous improvement
- Willingness to make contributions to open-source software projects
- Availability for extended hours and weekends as needed
- Based in Hawthorne or Starbase with occasional travel between locations
Responsibilities
- Create visually and functionally flawless user interfaces utilizing Lit Web Components (JavaScript, TypeScript) to enhance operator cognition and uphold safety standards
- Drive future capabilities that allow operators to efficiently manage multiple launch and build sites along with a fleet of vehicles both on-ground and in-space
- Develop techniques, tools, and infrastructure to minimize software complexity and streamline maintenance across missions
- Uphold high software standards and software engineering best practices throughout the full stack
- Analyze and devise long-term technical solutions to assist clients at all SpaceX sites utilizing Starship Displays
- Regular engagement with operators to gather insights on product usage and identify areas for enhancement
- Exhibit a proactive attitude towards learning and swiftly adapting to new technologies, becoming adept in both frontend and backend domains (prior experience in key areas is advantageous)
