Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field; or at least 3 years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree
- Over 1 year of professional experience in software development
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or a similar object-oriented programming language
- Experience with distributed systems or large-scale consumer internet platforms
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring practices
- Experience with optimizing application performance
- Background with relational databases (PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, etc.)
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, take initiative, and communicate effectively
- Previous experience with satellite or spacecraft systems is advantageous
- Strong foundation in mathematics and physics
Responsibilities
- Design highly reliable and available software systems to manage thousands of satellites in low-earth orbit
- Create prototypes to validate key design concepts and assess technical limitations
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to plan and coordinate the development of our products
- Oversee the entire software lifecycle: from identifying core requirements to prototyping, developing, testing, rolling out, and supporting the software
