Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or an engineering discipline; or 2+ years of relevant experience in software, DevOps, or site reliability engineering in lieu of a degree
- 1+ year of experience with Linux operating systems
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages
- Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance
- 1+ years of experience in systems administration, site reliability engineering, or DevOps (preferred)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Competence in configuring and maintaining Linux instances
- 1+ years of experience in Python and associated development frameworks
- Strong grasp of message queue technologies like RabbitMQ or Kafka
- Knowledge of virtualization and hypervisor technologies
- Experience with databases and performance optimization
- Understanding of identity management and authentication protocols
- Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and enhance system performance
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, peers, and management
- Capability to swiftly acquire new tools and frameworks
- Experience with dynamic system configuration using Jinja, YAML, and Helm
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test an in-house solution for software analysis, simulation, and prototyping
- Create automation for deploying and managing applications both on-premises and in the cloud
- Oversee core infrastructure technologies such as application servers, databases, messaging queues, and storage
- Install and optimize Kubernetes and RKE clusters using Ansible and related technologies in production settings
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop scalable, maintainable products
- Partner with IT and software teams to create a test automation suite leveraging DevOps infrastructure
- Enhance the lifecycle of services from conception through deployment and refinement
- Work closely with other engineers to gather requirements, conduct research, design, and support software platforms running in Kubernetes
- Build resilient, high-performance, scalable systems
- Take personal responsibility for the processes, systems, and tools you create and manage, contributing to our goal of making humanity a multiplanetary species
