Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of professional software development experience; or 7+ years of relevant software development experience in lieu of degree
- 3+ years of development expertise in C or C++
- Familiarity with the IEEE 802.11 wireless standard and networking protocols such as UDP and TCP/IP
- Experience in embedded software development for networking devices
- Strong foundational knowledge of networks, embedded systems, mathematics, and physics (preferred)
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities (preferred)
- Background in testing Wi-Fi for performance or stability (preferred)
- Comprehensive understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring processes (preferred)
- Proficient in DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridging, and network stack internals (preferred)
- Experience with networking kernel modules and drivers (preferred)
- Proven experience leading cross-team projects (preferred)
- Familiarity with security challenges in distributed systems and internet services (preferred)
- Experience programming in Golang and Python (preferred)
- Skills with hostAP (preferred)
- Adaptable and able to work efficiently in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements (preferred)
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
Responsibilities
- Drive the Wi-Fi software and product development roadmap
- Debug and optimize kernel-level system performance
- Collaborate with RF and electrical engineers to enhance testing procedures for both software and hardware
- Mentor software engineers and foster a positive work culture
- Enhance Wi-Fi mesh performance
- Create innovative tools to facilitate more frequent and reliable software deployment, testing, and data analysis within a continuous integration and release system
