Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a related field, or equivalent work experience with 6+ years in software development
- Over 4 years of experience with C++, Python, or Rust
- Proven experience with secure software development life cycle and applied cryptography
- Familiarity with network security, operating system security, and secure/ authenticated boot
- Knowledge in incident response, adversary detection, and vulnerability research
- Experience building or working with real-time embedded systems or distributed computing environments
- Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and effective communication
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security infrastructure for Starship, focusing on:
- Authentication and encryption protocols
- Identity management and automation
- Solutions for software integrity, including secure boot and code hardening
- Utilizing specialized hardware like hardware security modules and cryptographic accelerators
- Ensure application-level security and manage backend services for network security systems
- Oversee all facets of software development, encompassing design, testing, and integration with mission objectives
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to maintain launch and vehicle software, ensuring control over the pad, ship, and booster
- Define and spearhead projects that support the mission of Starship
- Continuously enhance software engineering standards and practices within the Starship Software team
